Who We Are
Our family is the 6th generation to live and do business in Central New York and we have a strong and grounded commitment to this area. We fondly remember coming with our own families to enjoy the beautiful setting that the former "Skyridge" property has to offer and also recognize its potential as a wonderful community resource. We have chosen to live and do business here and we value the natural beauty, simplicity and safety of life in Central New York. We know that our patrons do too and we look forward to sharing this local treasure with you!

Our Vision
While Central New York offers many beautiful and challenging golf courses, we believe The Ridge offers a unique experience for our golfers and their families. Our goal is to provide a relaxed, fun, and environmentally friendly golf experience for our clients. Restoring this world-class Robert Trent Jones course to its full potential is a top priority for us and we look forward to adding additional features and services to complement it.
The combination of impeccable service, a beautiful natural setting, a renovated clubhouse, and well–maintained greens make it clear that we take the quality of your golf experience very seriously. The Ridge will provide our community with a special place for recreation, relaxation, and spending time with family and friends.
Since acquiring the club in April 2011, we have taken the following steps towards achieving our vision:
- We’ve consulted agronomists, landscape architects, and turf management experts to assess current course conditions and to advise on the best way to enhance the playability, beauty, and distinction of the course. Recommended changes will be implemented over the course of this summer in an unobtrusive fashion.
- Renovations are underway inside the clubhouse to reconfigure the space and make it more comfortable for members. Immediate changes will include paint, carpet, furniture, a new food service area, a new front desk area, installation of a gas fireplace, and replacement of all windows.
- Landscaping and clean up is in progress in the areas surrounding the driveway, and clubhouse. Members will be able to relax on the clubhouse patio and enjoy beautiful gardens, a pristine waterfall feature, and stunning views of the course beyond.
- Two practice holes will be completed by Fall 2011 to allow for warm-up and lessons off the main course.
- We have made the important decision to go as green as possible with our course treatment program out of respect for the natural environment that we enjoy at The Ridge. With the help of the Soil and Water Conservation District, the NY Natural Resources Conservation Service guidelines, and field expert Bob Portmess of Cornell University, we are working to develop a program that will both minimize chemical use and effectively manage cultural and pest issues. The Ridge will be the first course of its kind in Central New York.
- Replacement carts have been ordered. A fleet of eighteen Club Car Precedent i2 gas–powered cars is on its way, equipped with peppy engines, extra–traction tires and conveniences such as bagwell liners, fold–down windshields, and plenty of storage.
Our goal is to continue to improve the course and expand the amenities of the club over time. Below are some possibilities for future developments at The Ridge:
- A sports bar on the third floor of our clubhouse building. Everyone knows that a game of golf and a cold beer go hand–in–hand. We would love to eventually operate a relaxed tavern where friends could gather for a round of drinks after their round of golf.
- Summer music series. The ridge that serves as the club’s namesake and the backdrop for the golf course also creates a unique amphitheatre environment behind the clubhouse which would make the ideal setting for outdoor summer entertainment.
- Winter recreation. Our beautiful property is perfect for cross–country skiing, snowshoeing, and winter hiking. We intend to groom and expand the existing trail system outlining the property to allow for comfortable year–round hiking, while the golf course itself offers interesting terrain for skiers and snowshoes.
- Holiday events. We envision hosting various holiday events for the community, including a spooky course tour for Halloween, a winter holiday party, and an Independence Day celebration.
We are committed to building a retreat for our entire community to enjoy, and we would love to have your input along the way! Please do not hesitate to contact us with suggestions, questions, and feedback.
